The Kwara House of Assembly on Wednesday passed the 2026 Revised/Supplementary Appropriation Bill, increasing the state’s total budget to N730.65 billion.
The bill followed the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, presented by its Chairman, Rep. Arinola Lawal.
Lawal presented the report after the committee reviewed the 2026 budget during a technical session.
Under the revised budget, N267.59 billion is earmarked for recurrent expenditure, while N463.07 billion is allocated for capital expenditure.
The adjustments followed the committee’s review of the budget in line with the state government’s priorities and ongoing projects.
The House subsequently considered the bill for third reading and final passage.
Following its passage, the Speaker, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, directed the Clerk to produce clean copies of the bill.
He directed that the copies be forwarded to Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for assent.
The revised 2026 budget will take effect upon the governor’s assent.
