President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday paid a heart-warming personal tribute to his wife, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 66th birthday today, Monday, September 21, 2026.
In an emotional statement issued on September 20, 2026, from the State House, Abuja, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described his wife as his anchor, crown, and steadfast companion throughout decades of political and personal struggle.
Quoting a Yoruba proverb, “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀” (A good wife is her husband’s crown), President Tinubu reflected on Senator Oluremi’s unwavering support and uncommon courage over their shared journey.
”Oluremi mi, today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage,” President Tinubu stated. “I would choose the same road that led me to you, over and over again.”
The President commended the First Lady’s lifetime dedication to public service, spanning her former tenure as First Lady of Lagos State, her three consecutive terms representing Lagos Central in the Senate, and her ongoing national initiatives under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
President Tinubu acknowledged her deep spiritual strength and role as a pillar of comfort for their family and countless Nigerians through her philanthropic work.
