The Ondo State Rainbow Coalition for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election has said its support for the President is based on the need to sustain ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure development and youth empowerment programmes.
The chairman of the coalition, Mr Abayomi Adesanya, stated this in a statement on Thursday in Akure, saying the group arrived at its position after reviewing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its perceived impact on Ondo State and the country.
Adesanya identified the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market as major reasons for the coalition’s support. He acknowledged that the reforms had been difficult but argued that continuity was necessary for the policies to mature and deliver their intended benefits.
The chairman also cited infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, as well as federal appointments and other interventions, which he said had strengthened the state’s sense of inclusion in the Federal Government. He also mentioned the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan scheme and support for entrepreneurship as programmes that had created opportunities for young Nigerians.
On security, Adesanya said the coalition considered continuity important, claiming that the administration’s efforts to strengthen the security architecture were gradually improving the situation for farmers and communities in Ondo State. He said the coalition would mobilise support across all 203 wards of the state for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and appealed to residents, regardless of political affiliation, to join the movement.
