The Annual Convention of the Nsukka Journalists Forum (NJF), has been scheduled to hold Wednesday October 2 (tomorrow) at Jerry Marriot hotel, Nsukka, according to a statement issued in Nsukka, the nation’s first indigenous university, the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) host community, by the Forum’s Chairman, Chief Benson Whyte Ezugwu.
In the statement he e-signed, Whyte Ezugwu disclosed that this year’s convention has been divided into two sessions, namely, the technical session which holds from 11am to 12 noon and the public lecture/awards section billed to start at 1pm.
According to him, the topic of this year’s public lecture, Navigating the Constitutional Conundrum for Creation of Adada State, “has been carefully chosen to set agenda for further discussion on this very important issue which has resonated in the two Chambers of the National Assembly.”
“As a forum of media practitioners, we are bound to set the ball rolling,” Ezugwu stressed, adding that “unlike what we used to have in our past conventions, this year’s event will give room for the notary public including members of the academia, politicians, technocrats, business gurus, the media and all lovers of Adada creation to grace the occasion.”
Ezugwu said the NJF convention 2024 would also feature awards of “Excellence” to six personalities who have played important roles in the development of the Nsukka Cultural zone and humanity at large.
“Also, nine corporate organizations that have contributed to the development of the Nsukka nation will receive corporate awards,” the NJF Chairman emphasized, assuring of a “new dawn” in the affairs of the Forum.
“It is a new dawn in NJF. I look forward to receiving the NJF members from across Nigeria and in the diaspora, some of who have started arriving Nsukka since the past two days to be part of this epoch-making event,” he declared.
“I also look forward to hosting our brothers and sisters, who are eager to be part of the occasion.”
