The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has declared that none of the presidential aspirants challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections matches his quality, competence, or merit.

Speaking on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, Senator Yari stated that putting rival candidates on the same political scale as the President would yield no match.

He delivered the remarks following a high-level closed-door meeting held in the afternoon at the Government House, Gusau, alongside Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal and key traditional rulers across the state.

Addressing reporters shortly after the meeting ended around 4:00 PM, Yari dismissed the political strength of opposition figures, asserting that their combined antecedents fall far short of the incumbent President’s administrative record.

”When you put all the aspirants contesting against Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a scale, I don’t think the scale would even accept them,” Yari said. “None of the aspirants contesting against him are on his level when it comes to merit and quality. We don’t think any of them have even 10 percent of what Bola Tinubu possesses.”

He further noted that the APC’s strategy for the 2027 election cycle will shift away from making fresh campaign promises or resorting to personal attacks against opponents, focusing instead on highlighting the tangible achievements of the current administration.

”Tinubu is beyond any other person. He is for Nigerians, and he’s a leader who loves this country without any fear of contradiction,” Yari added, emphasizing that his first official assignment as Campaign Council Director-General was to engage traditional leaders to seek their blessings and grassroots support.

Also speaking during the briefing, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal stated that the state government convened the meeting to formally present Senator Yari, a prominent indigene of the state, to the traditional institution.

”It is important for us to hand him over to them to seek their support. This is the reason for the meeting,” Governor Lawal explained, assuring the APC Presidential Campaign Council that President Tinubu would receive total electoral support from the people of Zamfara State in 2027.
