The Amanyanabo of the Source, Da Amakiri Tubo, Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, has forcefully refuted allegations leveled against his private security firm, Royal Fouche Security Services, by the Udekama Council of Chiefs.
Addressing journalists and community stakeholders during a press briefing held on Tuesday morning, September 8, 2026, at the Royal Fouche Operational Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Dokubo-Asari dismissed claims that the firm operates as an “army of occupation” or is involved in illegal land grabbing within the Udekama territory.
The backlash comes in response to a statement issued over the weekend by Chief Soberekon West, speaking on behalf of the Udekama Council of Chiefs, who accused the security firm of intimidating local residents, encroaching on ancestral lands, and deploying armed personnel without proper regulatory oversight.
Dokubo-Asari labeled the accusations baseless and politically motivated, maintaining that Royal Fouche Security Services functions strictly within the legal framework established for private security outfits in Nigeria. Dokubo-Asari emphasised that the security company is fully registered and maintains active clearance with relevant federal security agencies to provide surveillance and asset protection services.
Addressing the land-grabbing allegations, he stated that all property currently occupied or utilized by his organization was legitimately acquired through lawful transactions with verified landholders, backed by verifiable documentation. Highlighting local involvement, Dokubo-Asari noted that the firm actively employs youth from surrounding communities, arguing that their operations have reduced local crime rates rather than instigating violence.
Dokubo-Asari urged the Udekama Council of Chiefs to desist from spreading misinformation and invited the leadership to engage in constructive dialogue or present their grievances to a court of law rather than relying on public smear campaigns. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Udekama Council of Chiefs has not issued a formal response to Dokubo-Asari’s counter-statement.
