Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared total support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor also pledged to mobilise the entire political structure of the state to secure victory for all All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates contesting for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly seats.
Speaking on Monday, August 31, 2026, during the APC Elders Council meeting held at the Banquet Hall, Government House in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the need for absolute party unity, declaring that the APC in Ondo State remains one indivisible entity.
“APC is one. There are no two APCs in Ondo State,” Aiyedatiwa stated, urging party faithful to reject any attempt to factionalise the party. He directed the immediate activation of the APC Elders Council across all 18 local government areas, 203 political wards, and 3,933 polling units in the state to ensure a seamless victory across all elective posts.
The governor credited President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms for making more resources available to states to execute transformative projects, asserting that his administration’s performance in infrastructure, health, and security would form the bedrock of the party’s campaign.
Party leaders and spokespersons at the event resonated with the governor’s vision; Nimbe Farukanmi (Chairman, Ondo APC Elders Council) called for unity among members from all three senatorial districts, commending Governor Aiyedatiwa as an open-minded leader dedicated to party harmony.
Ade Adetimehin (State Chairman, APC – represented by State Working Committee member Babatunde) noted that the administration’s achievements in healthcare, including the procurement of the state’s first MRI and CT scan machines for UNIMEDTH and infrastructure will serve as the primary campaign tools ahead of 2027.
Hon. Donald Alasoadura (Former Senator and Minister) highlighted President Tinubu’s magnanimity toward Ondo State, pledging the full support of elders from Ondo South to ensure victory for the President and all APC candidates.
Governor Aiyedatiwa concluded by urging party members to focus on grassroots mobilization to maintain the APC’s stronghold in Ondo State across all levels of government.
