Residents of the Ajogbo Akia community in the Ado-Odo area of Ogun State have raised the alarm over an alleged violent invasion and destruction of their farmlands by hoodlums suspected to be land grabbers.
The residents said the suspected land grabbers invaded the community and destroyed crops and other farm properties, leaving farmers worried about the safety of their livelihoods and continued access to their farmlands.
According to the affected residents, the alleged attacks have created fear within the community, with farmers expressing concerns over further destruction and possible escalation of the dispute. They called on relevant authorities to intervene and protect their properties.
The residents also appealed to the Ogun State Government and security agencies to investigate the incident and take action against those responsible for the alleged invasion. They urged the authorities to ensure that farmers could return to their farms without fear of intimidation or violence.
The community members said they remained committed to resolving the matter through lawful means but stressed the need for urgent intervention to prevent further attacks. They urged security agencies to strengthen their presence in the area and protect residents and their means of livelihood.
