Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attempted abduction and rescued 14 kidnapped victims during an operation in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts by security forces to combat banditry and kidnapping in the North-West. The troops reportedly responded to intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers operating in the area. During the operation, the troops confronted the criminals and successfully prevented them from abducting additional victims.
Fourteen kidnapped persons were also rescued and taken to safety.
The rescued victims are expected to undergo necessary medical checks and documentation before being reunited with their families. The operation also forms part of continued efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore security across Zamfara.
The military has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements in the region. Residents have also been urged to provide security agencies with timely information on suspicious activities to support ongoing operations.
