Adeleke receives INEC Certificate of Return following Osun Governorship re-election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke officially received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, following his reelection victory in the August 15 off-cycle governorship election.

​The presentation ceremony took place at approximately 11:30 AM at the INEC State Headquarters along Gbongan–Ibadan Road in Osogbo, the state capital. High-ranking electoral officials, party leaders, and state dignitaries attended the event to witness the formal validation of the mandate.

​The National Commissioner supervising Osun State presented the certificate to Adeleke, alongside the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC). The commission reaffirmed its commitment to democratic transparency and commended the state’s residents for maintaining peaceful conduct during the election.

​Speaking to journalists immediately after receiving the document, Governor Adeleke described the victory as a collective triumph for the people of Osun State.

​”This certificate represents the sacred mandate of the good people of Osun State, who have entrusted us to continue the work of transformation,” Adeleke stated. “We remain committed to delivering on our promises and advancing our governance priorities for every citizen.”

​In a statement issued shortly after the event, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, emphasized that the administration would immediately resume focusing on key developmental projects across the state.

​”The Governor’s reelection reflects popular satisfaction with the progress achieved over his tenure,” Rasheed noted in the statement. “With the official presentation of the Certificate of Return complete, the administration is moving forward with renewed dedication to local infrastructure, education, health, and economic welfare.”

​Supporters gathered outside the INEC office and across Osogbo to celebrate the presentation, marking another pivotal moment following the announcement of the election results.
