The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Seriake Dickson, has formally congratulated the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, following his victory in the state governorship election.

​The congratulatory message was released in an official statement signed by Senator Dickson’s Media Adviser, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM from the National Leader’s Media Office in Abuja.

​In the statement, Senator Dickson described Governor Adeleke’s victory as a resounding reaffirmation of the people’s trust in his leadership, dedication, and service delivery across Osun State.

​”On behalf of the National Executive Council, leadership, and members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, I heartily congratulate my brother and colleague, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his triumph at the polls,” Dickson stated. “This electoral outcome is a clear testimony to his grassroots connection and the impactful developmental projects executed under his administration.”

​Senator Dickson commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for maintaining order throughout the voting process. He further called on all political opponents to respect the mandate expressed by the electorate, urging them to collaborate with Governor Adeleke to foster peace, socio-economic growth, and political stability across Osun State.
