The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, extended her warm congratulations to Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, following his victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
Describing the election outcome as a “resounding victory for democracy and the unbroken will of the Osun people,” Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan commended the electorate for turning out massively on Saturday, August 15, to reaffirm their mandate for Governor Adeleke’s administration.
In an official statement released at 2:30 PM on Sunday from her media office in Abuja, signed by her Chief Press Secretary, Aledare Israel, the Kogi Central lawmaker highlighted that the victory reflects the popular desire for sustained good governance and grassroots development across Osun State.
”Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election is a clear validation of his people-oriented governance, transparent leadership, and devotion to the well-being of the good people of Osun State,” the statement read. “Saturday’s poll demonstrated that when the electorate sees genuine leadership, they defend it courageously at the ballot box.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Adeleke winner early Sunday morning at the State Collation Centre in Osogbo, following the official tally of votes cast across all 30 Local Government Areas of Osun State on Saturday.
Reacting on behalf of the Osun State Government from the Government House in Osogbo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, acknowledged the flow of congratulations from national leaders and political stakeholders across Nigeria.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan further urged political actors across all parties to set aside campaign grievances and unite behind Governor Adeleke to build a stronger Osun State. She expressed full confidence in the Governor’s capacity to build upon his achievements and deliver even greater dividends of democracy during his second term.
