Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has commended the people of Osun State and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the just-concluded Osun State governorship election.
​Governor Otti shared the commendation during an official press briefing held on Sunday, at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Umuahia, Abia State.
​Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kazie Uko, the governor praised the residents of Osun State for demonstrating political maturity and upholding peace throughout the exercise.
Governor Otti lauded Osun voters for exercising their civic duties calmly and resisting actions capable of threatening peace or disrupting public order.
The Independent National Electoral Commission was praised for demonstrating transparency, efficiency, and logistical improvement during the poll.
The governor noted that peaceful elections reinforce public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic processes and set an encouraging precedent for upcoming elections across the nation.
​”The peaceful conduct of the Osun governorship election is a victory for democracy and a testament to the fact that when citizens and electoral institutions align with integrity, the true will of the people prevails,” stated Mr. Kazie Uko on behalf of Governor Alex Otti.
​Governor Otti urged security agencies and electoral officers to maintain the high standards demonstrated during the election in future off-cycle polls across the country.
