President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his congratulations to the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, following his victory in the state’s governorship election. ​The revelation was made on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 08:00 AM, during a press briefing in Abuja by legal practitioner and Accord Party chieftain, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi.
​According to Olajengbesi, President Tinubu placed a personal call to Governor Adeleke shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) finalized the election results in Osogbo. Bayo Onanuga; Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy (reaffirming the President’s commitment to democratic outcomes). ​
Addressing journalists, Olajengbesi commended President Tinubu for demonstrating non-partisan statesmanship by acknowledging the democratic will of the people of Osun State. ​”President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated once again that he is a father to the nation, regardless of political affiliations,” Olajengbesi stated.
“He personally reached out to His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, to congratulate him on his hard-earned victory and pledged the Federal Government’s continued collaboration with Osun State.”
