Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed strong optimism that the ongoing governorship election across the state will remain peaceful, confident that he will emerge victorious at the polls.
​The Governor stated this on Saturday morning shortly after exercising his civic duty. Governor Adeleke arrived at his polling unit located at Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area, where he underwent accreditation and cast his vote.
​Addressing members of the press immediately after voting, Governor Adeleke commended the electoral officials for the smooth conduct of the process. He noted that the seamless operation of the voting machinery and the orderly turnout of voters reflected the growing maturity of democracy in Osun State.
​”The process has been smooth and seamless,” Governor Adeleke remarked. “I am confident that the election will continue peacefully across all local government areas, and I am equally confident of victory. I urge all citizens of Osun State to come out, exercise their franchise peacefully, and protect their votes.”
Speaking on behalf of the state administration, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, reinforced the Governor’s statement. He reiterated that security agencies across the state had been fully briefed to ensure law and order throughout the voting process and subsequent counting.
​Reports across key centers in Ede and surrounding local governments indicate early voter turnout, with security personnel maintaining a visible presence at strategic locations to guarantee a peaceful election environment. Voting is expected to continue until late afternoon across all designated polling units.
