Traditional rulers in Igbere, located in the Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, have unanimously backed the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for another term in the National Assembly.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional council during Kalu’s “Meet Your Constituents” tour, His Royal Majesty Eze Joseph Ukaoha Anyanta commended the lawmaker’s legislative performance, describing his record as unparalleled in the constituency since the return to democratic governance in 1999. The royal fathers praised his contributions to regional infrastructure, legislative oversight, and constituency development across the 13 electoral wards in Bende.

The endorsement was also echoed by local community groups, including women, youth groups, and non-indigene associations across Igbere, who cited significant improvements in road networks, healthcare facilities, and educational infrastructure under Kalu’s stewardship.

Responding to the royal fathers and community representatives, Kalu expressed gratitude for their trust and royal blessings. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing effective representation, attracting additional federal projects, and advancing socio-economic development throughout the constituency.
