Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have neutralised two suspected terrorists, apprehended a suspected bandit and recovered an AK-47 rifle during an operation in Plateau State. The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to curb terrorist and bandit activities in the state.
The troops reportedly conducted the operation in the early hours of Tuesday following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected terrorists in the area.
During the operation, the troops engaged the suspects, resulting in the neutralisation of two suspected terrorists. Another suspected bandit was arrested, while an AK-47 rifle was recovered.
The military said the operation formed part of its ongoing efforts to restore peace and security across Plateau State. Troops have continued to conduct operations against criminal elements in areas affected by insecurity.
The security forces urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could assist ongoing operations. The military also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting communities and maintaining peace across the state.
