The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Anambra has assumed duty today August 10, 2026 pledging to strengthen security and intensify efforts to prevent crime across the state.
The new CP assumed office on Monday in Awka and outlined proactive crime prevention, rapid tactical response and improved security across all 21 Local Government Areas as key priorities of his administration.
He said the command would adopt a proactive approach to policing, with emphasis on preventing criminal activities before they occur and responding swiftly to security threats.
The commissioner also pledged to strengthen tactical operations and improve the capacity of police personnel to respond effectively to emergencies and security challenges.
He called for increased cooperation between the police and residents, urging members of the public to provide timely and credible information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime.
He assured residents that the command would work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of lives and property across the state.
The commissioner further pledged to strengthen security operations across the state’s local government areas and ensure that vulnerable communities received adequate attention.
He urged police personnel to remain professional, disciplined and responsive in the discharge of their duties.
The new CP said the command would also deepen collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders to address emerging security threats in Anambra.
He appealed to residents to support the police and other security agencies in maintaining peace and protecting communities.
