Senior global investment bankers from Goldman Sachs International undertook a comprehensive inspection of Dangote Industries Limited’s integrated petroleum refinery, petrochemicals, and fertilizer facility in Lekki, Lagos, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The delegation was headed by Anthony Gutman, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs International and Global Co-Head of Investment Banking.

The visiting financial leadership group also featured Adib N. Zouein, Co-Head of EMEA Emerging Markets Regional Sales and Head of MENA for Global Banking & Markets Public, Ryad Yousuf, Global Head of FICC Sales Strats and Structuring and Jimi Adesanya, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa Sales (ex-South Africa).

Upon arrival at the mega-complex, the Goldman Sachs team was hosted by the executive board of Dangote Group, led by Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited.

Other key company leadership attending the strategic session and facility walkthrough included: Devakumar Edwin, Group Vice President, Oil & Gas, David Bird, Managing Director and CEO, Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals, Fatima Aliko Dangote, Group Executive Director, Oil & Gas and Ibrahim Dikko, Chief of Staff to the President/CEO.

The site walkthrough provided an in-depth operational view of the 700,000 barrels-per-day petroleum refinery, the polypropylene processing plant, Dangote Fertiliser Limited, and the specialized deep-sea port designed for regional and international distribution.

Reflecting on the scale of the facility after the walkthrough, Anthony Gutman praised the visionary scope and execution of the project:

”It is extraordinary what Mr. Dangote and the whole organisation have achieved. The ambition, the scale of the project, the quality of the project, and the culture of the people is very impressive.”

Addressing the delegation, Aliko Dangote highlighted that the integrated complex represents a blueprint for long-term private capital execution in Africa, noting that the enterprise is positioning itself for a dynamic expansion phase beyond 2030.

”No matter how we try to explain what we have built, you cannot fully appreciate it until you see it,” Dangote stated. “But this is only the beginning. We need to look beyond 2030. The next phase of our journey will include new investments and acquisitions as we continue to scale the business.”

Dangote revealed that internal financial modeling projects the conglomerate is well-positioned to achieve $100 billion in annual revenue by 2030. He noted that these figures stem from conservative market metrics and that strong internal participation in recent private placements highlights deep confidence among workforce stakeholders in the refinery’s growth path.
