The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) has contained a compressed gas tanker leak in Kaduna South, with no casualties or injuries recorded.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Usman Mazadu, disclosed this on Monday, July 20, in Kaduna, saying emergency responders had secured the scene after receiving a distress call on Sunday. Mazadu said
KADSEMA responded jointly with the Kaduna State Fire and Public Safety Agency, adding that cooling operations were ongoing to stabilise the tanker and prevent further escalation.
“No casualty or injury was recorded, and the tanker driver escaped unharmed,” he said. He advised motorists and pedestrians to avoid the Nnamdi Azikiwe By-Pass near Unguwan Mu’azu until emergency officials declared the area safe.
Mazadu said traffic had been diverted to alternative routes to facilitate emergency operations and protect road users.
He commended residents for their cooperation and urged them to continue complying with directives from emergency personnel until the operation was concluded.
