Ahead of next year’s highly anticipated general elections, Professor Ifeanyi Odoh, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone, has thrown his weight behind the political integrity of the party’s presidential standard-bearer, Peter Obi.
Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, on Friday, July 17, 2026, Professor Odoh stated that Peter Obi’s administrative blueprint and public profile present a unique challenge to political opponents seeking flaws in his candidacy.
”It is incredibly difficult to fault the presidential candidate of our party, Peter Obi, anywhere you go,” Odoh stated during the media briefing. “His consistency, transparent record in governance, and clear vision for national economic revitalization resonate deeply with the electorate, making him a candidate that speaks for himself.
“The senatorial hopeful noted that the political climate across the local government areas making up Ebonyi Central, including Ezza North, Ezza South, Ikwo, and Ishielu indicates a strong desire for a shift toward accountable leadership.
Odoh emphasized that the NDC’s campaign strategy for the 2027 polls will heavily leverage Obi’s integrity-driven model to secure legislative and executive victories across the state.
He urged voters to remain focused on character and capacity as the election season intensifies.
