Kwararafa University wins CIPM North-East regional quiz competition

Kwararafa University, Wukari, Taraba State, has emerged winner of the North-East Regional Quiz Competition organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of CIPM, Dr Oluwatoyin Naiwo, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday that only the winners from each of the six geo-political zones would qualify for the national quiz competition scheduled for September 2026.

Naiwo said five universities participated in the North-East contest, namely Federal University, Wukari; Kwararafa University, Wukari; Modibbo Adama University, Yola; the University of Maiduguri; and Yobe State University.

Reacting to the victory, the Deputy Dean, School of Management and Social Sciences, Dr Terzungwe Kokoh, expressed confidence that the university would perform well at the national competition. He said the institution had already commenced preparations, particularly in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), to enhance the team’s chances.

Kokoh said Kwararafa University scored 20 points to defeat its closest rival, the University of Maiduguri, which scored 15 points. He also thanked the university management for the opportunity to mentor the students throughout the competition.
