The Manmark Associates Ltd, an entrepreneurial and market driven firm, on Thursday, celebrated the posthumous birthday of its founder, the late Prof. Julius Onah, describing him as a visionary leader.
The company’s Business Development Lead, Mr. Adewumi Osho, said this in a statement issued in Enugu on Thursday.
Osho said that Onah was the first professor of Marketing in Nigeria and the first Vice-Chancellor of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) who died in 2015 at the age of 76.
He said that Onah’s legacies in the academia, business and humanity had continued to inspire the company’s growth and values.
According to him, the celebration honours an academic colossus and visionary leader whose ideals remained the foundation of Manmark Associates Ltd.
Osho said the late professor’s visionary leadership continued to guide the company’s operations as it carried forward the vision he established.
The company’s lead described Onah as a “trailblazer” who made remarkable contributions to marketing education and university administration in Nigeria.
He disclosed that Onah pioneered market-driven entrepreneurship and championed the philosophy of taking academic knowledge beyond the classroom into practical business applications, an approach he popularly described as taking the “Gown to Town.”
The company’s business development lead said the philosophy inspired the establishment of Manmark Associates Ltd as a platform for translating academic research and insights into practical business solutions.
Osho further described the late professor as a distinguished academic, mentor and consultant of global repute, adding that he authored 15 authoritative books during his lifetime.
He explained that the corporate culture established by Onah was anchored on integrity, academic excellence and mentorship values that continued to define the organisation.
