The Ojodu Sub-Council of the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba, Nigeria (KSM), will commemorate its 10th Anniversary with a grand celebration and Fundraising Dinner for the construction of a N50 million Ojodu Youth Centre on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Otunba Street, Ojodu, Lagos, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The event will be chaired by Engr. (Chief) Joseph Jemine Akpieyi, a respected elder statesman, accomplished administrator, and renowned industrialist, whose wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to community development continue to inspire many.

According to the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Sir John Ojeaga, the anniversary is not only a celebration of a decade of faith-driven service but also an opportunity to invest in the future of young people.

“Our 10th anniversary is a celebration of God’s faithfulness, sacrificial service, and enduring fraternity. Beyond the festivities, we are laying the foundation for a legacy that will positively shape the lives of our youths for generations.

The proposed Ojodu Youth Centre will be a place of learning, mentorship, leadership development, and moral formation.”

He called on well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and members of the public to support the noble initiative, noting that every contribution would help build a brighter future for the youth.

Also speaking, the Grand Knight of Ojodu Sub-Council, Sir David Ehikhuemen, described the anniversary as a significant milestone in the council’s journey of faith and service.

“Ten years ago, a vision was planted. Today, we celebrate the fruits of that vision while looking ahead with even greater determination. The Youth Centre is our investment in tomorrow’s leaders. We invite everyone to join us as partners in building hope, strengthening families, and empowering our young people.”

The celebration is expected to attract members of the Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba from across Lagos and beyond, the Youths of St. Mulumba, Catholic clergy, traditional rulers, government officials, business leaders, captains of industry, and other distinguished guests.

The Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba, Nigeria (KSM) is the foremost Catholic lay order in Nigeria. Founded in 1953 by a Catholic priest and educationist, Rev. Fr. Abraham Ojefua, the Order is dedicated to the defence of the Catholic faith, the promotion of Christian values, charity, justice, fraternity, and selfless service to humanity.

Inspired by the ideals of St. Mulumba, the Knights have remained actively involved in evangelisation, humanitarian interventions, youth development, education, healthcare, and community service across Nigeria.

The Ojodu Sub-Council has, over the past decade, distinguished itself through impactful charitable projects, support for the Church, youth mentorship, and numerous initiatives aimed at promoting spiritual growth and social development within the Ojodu community.

Members of the public are warmly invited to be part of this landmark celebration and contribute towards the realization of the N50 million Ojodu Youth Centre, a project designed to nurture responsible, productive and morally upright future leaders.
