The Imo State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnap victim following a strategic operation in a dense forest bordering the Nekede, Ihiagwa, and Agbala communities within the Owerri West Local Government Area.
​The breakthrough came after tactical teams launched a coordinated sweep of the notorious border forest, which has recently been flagged as a hideout for criminal elements. Acting on credible intelligence, security operatives stormed the area, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their victim and flee deeper into the thicket.
​The rescued victim, whose identity is being withheld for security reasons, was found unharmed but shaken. Police authorities confirmed that the individual has been reunited with family members after undergoing a medical evaluation.
