​The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has officially flagged off a nationwide advocacy and sensitization campaign under the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), with activities set to commence across all state commands.
​The initiative marks a renewed strategic push by the Nigeria Police Force to root out cultism, substance abuse, and juvenile delinquency through community-oriented policing and proactive engagement.
Activities will simultaneously roll out across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) via local state commands.
The campaign targets schools, universities, and youth organizations to educate young Nigerians on the dangers of secret societies and vice syndicates.
The police will partner with traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and market associations to foster a unified front against crime.
​”Security is a shared responsibility. By engaging our communities directly, we can prevent vice before it takes root,” IGP Disu emphasized during the flag-off.
​The POCACOV initiative represents a tactical shift from reactive law enforcement to preventive advocacy. By addressing the root causes of youth vulnerability, such as peer pressure and lack of awareness. The Nigeria Police Force aims to drastically reduce crime rates and rehabilitate vulnerable demographics across the country.
