The Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr Adebowale A. Adedokun, has been honoured with the Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Integrity Leadership Award and a traditional title in recognition of his contributions to public procurement reforms and ethical leadership.
The award was presented during a ceremony attended by government officials, traditional rulers and other dignitaries.
According to the organisers, the award recognises individuals who have demonstrated integrity, accountability and commitment to national development through public service.
Adedokun was also conferred with a traditional title in acknowledgement of his contributions to transparency and good governance in Nigeria’s public procurement system.
Under his leadership, the Bureau of Public Procurement has introduced a number of reforms aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability in public procurement. These include the establishment of zonal offices, capacity-building programmes and initiatives to promote sustainable procurement and local content.
Speaking after receiving the award, Adedokun expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed the bureau’s commitment to improving public procurement processes in line with the Federal Government’s reform agenda.
The Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Integrity Leadership Award is named after the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and is presented to individuals recognised for integrity, leadership and service to society.
