A Kaduna Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that a 26-year-old man, Samson Gandu, be remanded in a corrections centre, for allegedly stabbing his older brother over disagreement over a plot of land.
The police charged Gandu with attempted culpable homicide.
Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel, did not take the plea of Gandu for want in jurisdiction.
Emmanuel ordered the police to return the case file to the Kaduna Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
He adjourned the case until June 30, for further mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Chidi Leo told the court that the case was reported by Janet Dogo at Gabasawa Police Station Kaduna on June 14.
The prosecutor said the suspect stabbed his older brother, Thomas, in the chest.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 200 of the Kaduna State Penal Code, 2017.
