he Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has declared that its grand finale mega rally ahead of the June 20 governorship election will serve as a powerful demonstration of the widespread support enjoyed by Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Monisade Afuye, as they seek a second term in office.
According to the APC 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council, the highly anticipated rally, scheduled for Tuesday in Ado Ekiti, is expected to attract thousands of party faithful, political stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters from across Ekiti State and beyond.
The campaign council disclosed that top-ranking figures within the ruling party, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC governors from different states, national leaders of the party, members of the National Assembly, ministers, and other prominent political personalities, will converge on the state capital to participate in what has been described as the climax of months of intensive grassroots mobilisation.
Speaking through a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, the Director of Media and Communication of the Campaign Council, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the rally would not only mark the end of the campaign season but would also provide a visible reflection of the overwhelming acceptance of the Oyebanji administration among the people of the state.
According to him, the event is being organised in support of Governor Oyebanji and his running mate, Mrs Afuye, who are flying the APC flag in the governorship election slated for June 20. He explained that the campaign team had spent months engaging directly with residents in all parts of the state, taking the administration’s message of continuity, development, and inclusive governance to the grassroots.
“The grand finale mega rally marks the climax of an unprecedented grassroots campaign that has traversed every ward, community, and local government area of the state,” Olatunbosun stated. Political observers see the rally as one of the most significant events of the election season, given the calibre of political figures expected to attend and the strategic importance of Ekiti State within the APC’s political calculations.
