An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ondo State, Mr. Gbenga Eleduma, has expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to lead Ondo State to new heights if he is elected in the upcoming governorship election.
Eleduma made these remarks in a statement made available to journalists in Akure, stating that Aiyedatiwa has the vision and dedication needed to bring transformative development to the state.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who served as the deputy to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu during his second term, became the acting governor following Akeredolu’s death on December 26, 2023.
Aiyedatiwa’s steady leadership during this transitional period gained him significant support within the APC, culminating in his victory in the party’s primary as the candidate for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, scheduled for November 16, 2024.
According to Eleduma, Aiyedatiwa’s path to victory seems clear, with little serious opposition from other contenders in the race.
He expressed optimism that Aiyedatiwa would secure a decisive win in the election, attributing his confidence to the governor’s track record and his ambitious plans for the state’s future.
“With all intents and purposes, Governor Aiyedatiwa will take Ondo State to the next level of development if elected,” Eleduma stated.
He went on to praise the Governor’s passion for progress, noting that his commitment to the welfare of the people is clearly reflected in the policies and initiatives already being implemented under his administration.
Eleduma emphasized that Aiyedatiwa’s plans for Ondo State are bold and visionary. One of the key goals of his administration is to turn the state into Nigeria’s leading hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology.
Eleduma highlighted that this vision is already materializing through the introduction of various initiatives, including the ‘ONDEA My IDEA 2.0 Competition.’

He pointed to the recent flag-off of the 11.9-kilometer Molege-Agunbiade Road construction in Owo as a testament to the governor’s commitment to infrastructure expansion.

“The construction of the Molege-Agunbiade Road is a game-changer for the people of Owo and the surrounding communities,” Eleduma said.

Eleduma stressed that the road project is just one example of Aiyedatiwa’s broader infrastructure development agenda.
