​The mass expulsion has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian higher education sector, sparking an intense national conversation about the vulnerabilities in current student verification systems and the lengths to which individuals will go to secure tertiary placement.
​The drastic measure followed a meticulous, months-long audit of student records initiated by the institution’s management. According to internal sources, the verification exercise cross-referenced submitted entry credentials and National Diploma (ND) transcripts with their originating institutions.
