As Muslims across the country prepare for the upcoming Eid-El-Kabir celebration later this week, livestock and food markets are expected to experience a surge in commercial activities from tomorrow.

Traders in major livestock markets anticipate increased patronage as families rush to purchase rams, goats, and other essentials for the Sallah festivities. The price of rams currently ranges between ₦150,000 and ₦1,000,000 depending on size and breed, while goats are being sold for between ₦60,000 and ₦300,000.

In addition to livestock, staple food items such as rice, cooking oil, spices, and beverages are also expected to witness high demand as households prepare for celebrations.

Market operators say the increased activity is likely to continue until the eve of the festival, with many buyers hoping to secure affordable prices before last-minute inflation sets in.
