The Remi Tinubu Support Organisation has inaugurated its Lagos State ambassadors and unveiled a new state leadership structure as part of efforts to deepen grassroots mobilisation, strengthen civic participation and expand political engagement across communities in the state. The event, held at LTV 8 and Eko FM premises in Lagos, brought together members of the organisation, political supporters, community leaders and stakeholders who gathered to witness the formal inauguration of the ambassadors and leadership team.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Director-General of the organisation, Yusi Buba, charged the newly inaugurated ambassadors to see themselves as representatives of the people and catalysts for grassroots mobilisation. According to Buba, the ambassadors carry an important responsibility of connecting leadership with ordinary citizens while promoting the ideals and vision of the organisation at the community level. “You are the voice of this movement at the grassroots, and your role will be critical in shaping the future we desire,” Buba told the ambassadors during his address.
He explained that the inauguration marked another phase in the organisation’s drive to expand its reach and strengthen engagement with residents across Lagos State. Buba stressed that effective leadership requires sacrifice, patience and a clear sense of purpose, urging the newly unveiled state leadership to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and dedication. “Leadership is sacrifice, patience, and purpose,” he said while congratulating the newly appointed officials.
The Director-General further expressed confidence that the new leadership team would steer the affairs of the organisation with commitment and excellence in line with its objectives. He noted that the Remi Tinubu Support Organisation was established to mobilise grassroots support, encourage civic consciousness and foster inclusive political participation among Nigerians. According to him, the organisation’s mission aligns with the principles of progressive leadership, national development and community-driven engagement.
Buba emphasized that political participation should not be limited to election periods alone but should involve continuous interaction between leaders and citizens at all levels. He added that grassroots mobilisation remained one of the most effective tools for strengthening democracy and ensuring that the voices of ordinary people are heard in governance processes. The newly inaugurated ambassadors were encouraged to engage directly with communities, sensitise residents on civic responsibilities and promote initiatives that support national development.
Observers at the event described the inauguration as part of broader efforts by political support groups to consolidate grassroots structures ahead of future political activities and national engagements. Political analysts note that support organisations and grassroots movements have increasingly become influential platforms for political mobilisation, public engagement and voter sensitisation across Nigeria.
The event also featured goodwill messages from stakeholders and supporters who praised the organisation for promoting citizen participation and community-based political involvement. Some speakers at the gathering highlighted the importance of youth and women participation in politics, urging the ambassadors to ensure inclusiveness in their outreach programmes and mobilisation efforts.
Participants also stressed the need for stronger collaboration between political support groups and local communities in addressing social and developmental challenges. The unveiling of the Lagos State leadership is expected to strengthen the operational structure of the organisation and coordinate its activities more effectively across local government areas and wards in the state.
Supporters at the event expressed optimism that the ambassadors would help broaden the organisation’s reach and increase public engagement on issues relating to governance, leadership and development.
The ceremony ended with the formal presentation of the ambassadors and state executives, alongside a renewed commitment by members to continue promoting grassroots participation and inclusive political engagement throughout Lagos State.
