ipNX, a Nigerian Information and Communications Technology company says it has intensified efforts to empower women and promote inclusion through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) outreach and mentorship initiatives.

The Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, ipNX, Mrs Folashade Efiong-Bassey, said this in a statement on Tuesday.

She said the initiatives aim at inspiring young girls and supporting women to thrive in the technology ecosystem.

Efiong-Bassey said the company was committed to creating opportunities and providing the right support systems for women to build careers in the digital economy.

“We are focused on inspiring the next generation and creating pathways for women and young girls to thrive in STEM.

“By championing equal opportunities and amplifying the achievements of women in technology, we are contributing to a future where more women can lead and succeed,” she said.

She said that as part of the activities, the company visited Victoria Island Senior Secondary School, Lagos, where it held an interactive session to encourage students to explore careers in STEM.

The ipNX boss noted that the school also benefited from ipNX’s free broadband internet service provided under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to enhance access to technology.

Also speaking, an Account Manager at ipNX Business, Ms Mary Falade, stressed the importance of early exposure, mentorship and access in bridging the gender gap in technology.

Falade encouraged the students to remain committed to learning and personal development, noting that opportunities abound in the digital space.

“When you give yourself to learning, discipline and growth, you gain opportunities, confidence and a future without limits,” she said.

Also, Dr Nadu Denloye spoke on women’s role in driving innovation and growth in Africa’s digital economy, highlighting the need for resilience, leadership and strategic thinking.

The initiatives form part of ipNX’s broader commitment to digital inclusion and the promotion of a diverse technology ecosystem in Nigeria.
