A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Michael Aondoakaa, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant political development ahead of future political alignments in the country.

Despite his resignation, Aondoakaa expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as visionary leadership and commitment to national development. He also thanked the President for the support and attention given to Benue State under the current administration.
“I wish to express my profound appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for the visionary leadership he has continued to provide for our nation, as well as for the support and attention which Benue State has enjoyed under his administration,” Aondoakaa stated.
Political observers say Aondoakaa’s presence at the PDP national convention in Abuja is a strong indication that the former Attorney-General may be preparing to formally join the opposition party, although he has not officially announced his defection at the time of filing this report.
