The All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected a new National Working Committee (NWC) at its national convention held in Abuja, with Nentawe Yilwatda emerging as the party’s National Chairman.
The newly constituted leadership, representing the six geopolitical zones, is expected to strengthen internal cohesion, enhance party administration, and position the APC ahead of forthcoming political contests.
Among key appointments, Ali Bukar Dalori was named Deputy National Chairman (North), while Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye emerged as Deputy National Chairman (South). Former senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru was confirmed as National Secretary, alongside Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana as Deputy National Secretary.
Other members of the NWC include Murtala Aliyu Kankia as National Legal Adviser, Uguru Mathew Ofoke as National Treasurer, and Ambassador Haruna Ginsau as National Financial Secretary. Muhammad Sulaiman Argungu will serve as National Organising Secretary, while Donatus Enyinnah Nwankpa assumes the role of National Welfare Secretary.
Felix Morka was named National Publicity Secretary, with Senator Abubakar Maikafi as National Auditor.
In a move reflecting inclusiveness, Dr. Mary A. Idele emerged as National Women Leader, Dayo Israel Abdullahi as National Youth Leader, and Aare Durotolu Oyebode Bankole as National Leader for Persons with Disabilities.
The convention also produced deputy officers and ex-officio members across all geopolitical zones, completing a broad-based leadership structure.
The development marks a significant phase in the APC’s reorganisation efforts, with expectations that the new leadership will deepen grassroots mobilisation, drive internal reforms, and consolidate the party’s political dominance nationwide.
