Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has commended President Bola Tinubu for deploying robust security to tackle banditry in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
Mohammed gave the commendation on Saturday during the Durbur Hawan Duache, when the Emir of Bauchi and traditional leaders paid Sallah homage in Bauchi.
He said in spite of being in opposition, Tinubu showed leadership and national concern by mobilising strong security reinforcements to the crisis-prone area.
The governor noted that the deployment included the GOC 3 Division, NSCDC operatives, and other agencies working jointly to dislodge bandits and restore peace.
“The President has shown love and care for our people. His swift intervention brought adequate security to Alkaleri and forced the bandits to flee.
“This is highly commendable, and we remain grateful,” Mohammed stated.
He urged traditional and religious leaders to strengthen collaboration with security agencies by reporting suspicious movements and exposing those aiding criminal elements.
According to him, community vigilance remains crucial in sustaining the gains recorded.
In his remarks, the Emir of Bauchi commended Mohammed for executing people-oriented projects across health, agriculture, and education sectors.
He said the achievements had significantly improved citizens’ wellbeing.
The Emir encouraged the governor to sustain his development agenda and pledged the Bauchi Emirate Council’s continued support and prayers.
