Former Minister of Aviation and ex-governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening cohesion within the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi State, declaring that his priority remains the party’s unity and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Yuguda made the remarks in Abuja while responding to a petition reportedly submitted against him to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), a development that has stirred fresh conversations about internal dynamics within the APC in Bauchi.
Unfazed by the allegations, the former minister insisted that he would not be distracted from what he described as more pressing political goals. According to him, efforts to rebuild and consolidate the party’s structure in Bauchi State remain paramount, especially as preparations gradually begin ahead of the next election cycle.
“I will not be drawn into unnecessary distractions,” Yuguda said, emphasizing that unity within the party is essential for electoral success and long-term stability.
The petition, which reportedly questions his role and influence in the state chapter of the APC, was dismissed by Yuguda as a calculated attempt to damage his reputation and weaken his standing within the party. In a statement issued by Dapo Okubanjo of the Yuguda Media Office, the allegations were described as baseless and politically motivated.
Yuguda maintained that such actions would not deter him from contributing to the growth of the APC, noting that internal disagreements are not unusual in political parties but must be managed with maturity and a focus on collective progress.
