The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that recruitment for Batch B beneficiaries of the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP) will commence nationwide on Monday, March 9, 2026.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the programme’s Coordinator-General, Kennedy Iyere, who urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity.

Iyere said the programme is open to Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 50, noting that the initiative is designed to provide economic support and empowerment opportunities for youths and other eligible citizens across the country.

According to him, the recruitment exercise will take place nationwide except in Kano State, where the process will be handled directly by the state government.

He explained that the state’s recruitment exercise will be supervised by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who has constituted a Kano State YEIDEP Steering Committee to coordinate the enrolment of beneficiaries within the state.

The coordinator-general noted that the procedure for Batch B registration differs from the earlier Batch A phase, which was conducted primarily through an online registration portal.

He explained that while Batch A applicants were able to complete their data capture and bank account processing through the digital platform, the new phase introduces a physical verification and account opening process.

Under the Batch B arrangement, prospective beneficiaries will be required to visit designated partner banks in person to open a special YEIDEP bank account as part of the registration process.

Iyere said the decision to adopt the new approach was intended to strengthen the integrity of the programme’s enrolment process and ensure proper identification and verification of applicants.

He noted that the physical registration system would also help improve coordination between the programme administrators and financial institutions involved in the initiative.

The YEIDEP programme is one of the Federal Government’s interventions aimed at addressing youth unemployment, promoting economic empowerment and preventing radicalisation among young people by providing them with opportunities for financial inclusion and productive engagement.

According to the programme’s organisers, the initiative focuses on equipping beneficiaries with the resources and support needed to become economically self-reliant while contributing positively to national development.

Iyere urged interested applicants to prepare the necessary identification documents and ensure they comply with the registration guidelines when the exercise begins.

He also called on eligible Nigerians across the country to participate responsibly in the recruitment process, stressing that the programme was designed to benefit individuals willing to pursue productive economic opportunities.

The Federal Government expressed optimism that the next phase of the programme would expand its reach and further strengthen its objective of empowering Nigerians through economic intervention and social stability initiatives.
