The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) has commenced the payment of February 2026 salaries to Federal Government workers whose wages are funded through the treasury.
According to the office, disbursement of salaries began on Monday, March 2, 2026, following a brief delay caused by a technical problem in the payment system.
The Director of Press and Public Relations in the OAGF, Bawa Mokwa, confirmed the development in a statement, explaining that the issue responsible for the delay had been successfully resolved.
“The delay in the payment of the February 2026 salaries was due to a technical hitch and it has been tackled and necessary measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence,” Mokwa said.
He assured federal workers that steps had been taken to strengthen the payment process and avoid similar disruptions in the future.
With the resolution of the glitch, thousands of civil servants across various ministries, departments and agencies are expected to begin receiving their February salaries, bringing relief to workers affected by the temporary delay.
