The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, has explained why the party has thrown its full support behind the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser, Dr. Bolaji Akinola, Oyetola said the endorsement was anchored on the President’s performance, courage, and clear vision for Nigeria’s future.
According to the minister, President Tinubu took bold and necessary decisions at the inception of his administration to rescue the nation’s economy from what he described as the brink of collapse. He noted that the early reforms, though challenging, were designed to lay a solid foundation for long-term economic stability and growth.
Oyetola highlighted key fiscal and monetary measures introduced by the administration, saying they were aimed at stabilising the economy, attracting foreign direct investment, and restoring confidence in Nigeria’s financial system.
He added that the reforms have begun to yield tangible results, citing improved revenue generation and enhanced transparency in public finance management as indicators of progress.
“The President demonstrated uncommon courage in taking tough decisions that previous administrations avoided. These steps were necessary to reposition Nigeria for sustainable development,” the statement read.
Oyetola further maintained that the administration’s economic direction has strengthened investor confidence and improved the country’s fiscal outlook, positioning Nigeria for greater competitiveness in the global market.
He urged Nigerians to sustain their support for the President, expressing confidence that a second term would consolidate ongoing reforms and deepen economic transformation across critical sectors of the economy.
The minister reaffirmed the APC’s commitment in Osun State to mobilise support for President Tinubu, stressing that continuity in leadership would ensure the full realisation of the administration’s reform agenda.
