Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has expressed profound sorrow over the sudden death of the Managing Director of the Katsina State Water Board, Tukur Tingilin, who died following an auto accident on Thursday.
In a condolence message issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, the governor described Tingilin’s passing as a devastating blow to the state, particularly at a time when the administration was ramping up efforts to expand access to potable water across communities.
Radda paid glowing tribute to the late Water Board boss, commending his dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to public service. He noted that Tingilin’s tenure was defined by renewed momentum in the drive to improve water infrastructure and ensure steady supply to households in both urban and rural areas.
The statement read in part: “Governor Radda described the death as a rude shock, noting that Engr. Tingilin’s leadership as Managing Director of the State Water Board was marked by selfless service to the people, even until his last breath.
“Under his guidance, efforts to ensure that clean water reached every household in Katsina were greatly intensified and sustained.
“The Governor takes solace in the fact that Engr. Tingilin passed away as a faithful Muslim during the holy month of Ramadan.”
The governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, staff of the Katsina State Water Board, and the entire people of the state, praying for strength and comfort for those mourning the loss.
Tingilin’s death has drawn tributes from colleagues and stakeholders in the water sector, who described him as a diligent administrator whose contributions would have a lasting impact on the state’s development.
