The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a mix of sunshine and cloud cover across the country from Monday to Wednesday, with largely stable weather conditions expected nationwide.

In its weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, the agency said the northern region would experience predominantly sunny and cloudy skies throughout the three-day forecast period. Similar conditions are also anticipated across the central parts of the country, suggesting generally fair weather.

For the southern region, NiMet predicted mostly sunny conditions with patches of cloud cover. However, residents of some coastal states have been advised to expect brief weather disturbances later in the day, as isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall are likely over parts of Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.

On Tuesday, the agency said sunny and hazy skies are expected over the northern and central regions, while the southern states will continue to witness sunshine with intermittent cloudiness.

NiMet indicated that the prevailing weather pattern is expected to persist into Wednesday, with sunshine and cloud cover dominating most parts of the country, and only minimal chances of rainfall in isolated southern locations.

The agency urged the public, especially road users and people with respiratory conditions, to take necessary precautions, particularly in areas expected to experience hazy conditions.
