After weeks of closure due to security concerns, the Kwara State College of Education, Oro, has officially resumed academic and administrative activities. The state government’s directive to reopen the institution comes as relief to students and staff who had been kept away from the campus.
An internal memorandum issued on Monday, February 2, 2026, and signed by Deputy Registrar for Information, Protocol and Publicity, Mrs. Lawal Taibat Saka-Bolanta, confirmed the resumption. The memo, referenced CEO/ADMIN/27/Vol.1/268, was addressed to both staff and students, stating that the college had reopened with immediate effect.
The reopening marks a significant milestone for the Irepodun Local Government Area institution, which had faced disruptions in recent weeks. College officials expressed optimism that the resumption would allow teaching, learning, and administrative functions to continue without further interruptions.
Students, many of whom had faced uncertainty over their academic schedules, welcomed the development. Some noted that the resumption not only restores access to education but also signals growing confidence in the region’s improving security situation.
