The Acting Managing Director of the organisation, Mr. Abdulkareem Gezawa, disclosed this while speaking at the 2026 pre-retirement seminar organised by NPF Pensions Limited in Lagos.

Gezawa further revealed that death benefits amounting to N39.57 billion had been paid to 8,847 next-of-kin of deceased police personnel, underscoring the organisation’s efforts to provide financial support to families of fallen officers.

According to him, 25,572 retirees are currently on the payroll of the fund and receive monthly pensions valued at over N1.56 billion, ensuring sustained income and financial stability for retired officers.

He reiterated that NPF Pensions Limited remains committed to the timely and efficient payment of pensions and other entitlements, noting that the organisation continues to strengthen its operational processes to enhance service delivery.

Gezawa also advised serving officers approaching retirement to take advantage of pre-retirement seminars, describing them as essential platforms for gaining adequate knowledge on retirement planning, documentation, and accessing benefits without unnecessary delays.

He assured stakeholders that the fund would continue to uphold transparency, accountability and professionalism in the management of pension funds, in line with its mandate to safeguard the future of police retirees and their families.
