Edo governor reshuffles cabinet, appoints new Chief of Staff

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle involving key officials in his administration, in a move aimed at boosting efficiency and strengthening governance.

As part of the reshuffle, the Governor redeployed his Chief of Staff, Hon. Gani Audu, to serve as Commissioner in the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

The development marks a strategic realignment of responsibilities within the cabinet to better harness experience across critical sectors.

In the same vein, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, who until now served as Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff to the Governor.

The changes were confirmed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, who described the exercise as a minor cabinet reshuffle.

According to the statement, the Governor’s decision forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, enhance service delivery, and promote greater efficiency in the management of state affairs.

The statement added that the administration remains committed to repositioning government institutions to effectively deliver on its development agenda and meet the expectations of the people of Edo State.
