The Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has said the Nigerian military is strengthening its operations against Boko Haram and its splinter groups through renewed cooperation with the United States.

Abubakar disclosed this while briefing a team of Defence Correspondents during their visit to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

According to the theatre commander, the partnership has enabled the military to access critical intelligence support from the United States, which has significantly improved ongoing counterterrorism operations in the North-East.

He explained that the intelligence being shared has assisted troops in identifying terrorist movements, hideouts and logistics networks, leading to more successful engagements on the battlefield.

“A key point in this brief is that we are leveraging our current partnership with the United States,” Abubakar said. “It is on the basis of credible and invaluable intelligence that we are working to bring this battle to a favourable conclusion in the shortest possible time.”

The general reaffirmed the commitment of Operation Hadin Kai to dismantling remaining terrorist enclaves and restoring lasting peace to affected communities across the region.
