Nollywood actress and filmmaker Regina Daniels took a drug test on her own to respond to ongoing rumors about drug addiction. These rumors began during her widely publicized marital problems with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a heartfelt statement on Instagram, along with a video, Daniels said the past few months have been very difficult and marked a major change in her life.
She shared that the experience deeply affected her, making her feel like everything she knew was slipping away. Daniels said she took the test to show her commitment to honesty, responsibility, and her own peace of mind.
She stressed that she did this for the people who have supported her and those who see her as a role model.
Responding to the many claims calling her a “drug addict,” Daniels took time to reflect on these accusations.
“One thing that echoed loudly across the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict.’ And honestly? I paused, then I checked again. I looked at myself in the mirror repeatedly, searching for this so-called addict,” she wrote.
She said that labels like these often come from people projecting their own fears and negativity, and she insisted that “projection is not reality, and noise is not truth.”
The drug test happened during a long and public dispute with her estranged husband, Nwoko, which grew more intense in late 2025.
Nwoko had publicly accused Daniels of struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, saying this was the main reason for their marital problems and demanding she go to rehab. Reports say the court required her to finish rehab and have welfare checks before she could see their two young sons, Munir and Khalifa, again.
In her latest video, Daniels reportedly showed what looked like test results, and a hospital representative confirmed the results were clear. She said the test was not just to clear her name, but also to protect how her children will see her in the future.
The actress has promised to take legal action against those spreading these claims, showing she is determined to restore her reputation.
