As part of us Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and commitment to access to justice, a law firm, Popoola Taiwo LP, recently donated food and other items to the inmates of the Ikoyi Center of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS).
The donation of the foods and other items, the law firm through its Principal Partner, Barrister Shehu Popoola-Taiwo, said was aimed at engaging in constructive discussions with some of the inmates on the nature and status of their cases, providing guidance, clarification, and encouragement where necessary.
Barrister Shehu also stated that the visit also provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement and further reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between legal practitioners and the Nigerian Correctional Service in promoting justice, rehabilitation, and humane treatment of inmates.
“We are here today at the Ikoyi-Lagos center of the Nigerian Correctional Services, as parts of our law firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as well as to engage in constructive discussions with some of the inmates on the nature and status of their cases, to enable us to know where we can provide guidance, clarification, and encouragement where necessary.
