The Institute for Governance and Leadership Accountability (IGLA) has released its comprehensive 2025 end-of-year assessment of the Ondo State Government, rating the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as focused, purposeful and committed to people-centred governance.

In the report, IGLA said the Aiyedatiwa-led administration is steadily redefining governance in Ondo State through competence, accountability and improved service delivery. The institute noted that the government’s policy direction and implementation reflect a clear understanding of citizens’ needs and a determination to deliver measurable results.

According to IGLA, the assessment was conducted across three states in each of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones to ensure balance and credibility. In the South-West zone, Lagos, Ogun and Ondo states were selected for evaluation, with Ondo State receiving commendation for its governance approach and leadership style.

The institute explained that the evaluation focused on key indicators such as leadership effectiveness, transparency, institutional capacity, policy execution and impact on citizens’ welfare. It noted that Ondo State recorded steady progress in these areas, driven by what it described as purposeful leadership and a growing culture of accountability within government institutions.

IGLA added that the Ondo State Government’s emphasis on inclusive governance and responsible use of public resources has strengthened public trust and enhanced service delivery across critical sectors.

The institute urged the state government to sustain the momentum, deepen reforms and continue prioritising policies that directly improve the lives of residents, noting that consistent accountability and effective leadership remain crucial to long-term development.
